Agra back to New Delhi
Our last day in Rajesthan...
We left our hotel around 9.30 am.
-
The last leg of our tour: back to New Delhi.
Although the drive took approximately 4.5 hours, it was packed with interesting
glimpses at Indian life and activities in the numerous little towns we crossed.
-
About half-way between Agra and New Delhi, we stopped at a Hindu Temple.
Having left our shoes in the care of the Temple attendants, we stepped into
the huge marble entrance to the Temple and then inside.
Another experience full of unexpected twists:
-
In Delhi, after checking in our hotel, we asked Satbir if he could drive us to a
typical Indian market. We drove to Old Delhi Chandni Chowk Street Market.
Tiny streets, full of minuscule shops packed to the brim with colourful goods of all kinds -
An Aladin's cave kind of place!
We were very touched at our Satbir, as loyal as ever,
took so much trouble arranging to park the car, paid for someone to look after it...
and then made sure he escorted us himself for safety... and (I guess) so we wouldn't get lost!
-
Driven once again by Satbir, our day - and indeed our wonderful Rajesthan Tour - ended
by a meal at Raj's house.
Our kind and devoted guide, Raj, had asked his wife, Nilo, to cook a meal
for us... Nilo is a beautiful lady and she wore the most attractive sari!
We also met their 2 lovely children. It was another wonderful and
humbling experience we will never forget!
